Global South EXPOHUB AI Analytics · 2026-05-08

Latin America's factory automation and industrial controls market is set to grow from USD 21.1 billion in 2026 to USD 30.2 billion by 2031, at a 7.4% CAGR, driven by Industry 4.0 adoption, nearshoring, and government incentives. Brazil leads the region as host of FEIMEC 2026 (May 5–9, São Paulo Expo). Manufacturing accounts for around one third of national GDP, making Brazil the third-largest industrial economy in the Americas. The government has earmarked BRL 186.6 billion (USD 37.3 billion) to modernise industrial facilities and lift digitalisation from 23.5% to 90% of firms by 2033. Key trends: IIoT, predictive maintenance, collaborative robotics, AI-driven smart factories, and energy-efficient automation. Mexico, Argentina and Colombia are accelerating adoption through nearshoring and mining incentives, positioning the region as a strategic destination for global machinery suppliers.
